Starwood Montessori

Starwood Montessori School has been a wonderful experience for our entire family. We are starting our fifth year at the school and we continue to be extremely happy. Our two boys are completely different both academically and socailly and yet they both thrive due to the time and attention the director and staff give them. Our older son has always been bright, independent and inquisitive. His teachers kept him engaged and challenged. He also loved being a mentor for the younger classmates. Our younger son is shy and diagnosed with a speech delay. The director, his teachers, and staff all assisted in the diagnosis (including emotional support for me) and made sure he was where he needs to be. He has made great improvements and will be up to par soon. The knowledge, experience, and nuturing staff has been priceless. The school has become like family to us and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

Starwood Montessori School has been a great find for our family. Our twins started at Starwood at age 3. The wonderful teachers at the school made their very first school experience a memorable one! Our children flourished, both socially and academically, under the caring guidance of the knowledgeable teachers! After 2 years in this rich learning environment, we moved our children to public school due to personal reasons. Our children still reminisce fondly about Starwood every time we drive by. They talk about their great teachers, friends, and about all the work they accomplished while at Starwood. We highly recommend Starwood as a wonderful school where professional staff and administrators are very supportive and passionate about doing the best for our children!

Best decision we made for our children! Both of my daughters attended Starwood Montessori School from age 2 through kindergarten. They stayed through their kindergarten year because the education they were receiving at this school was well beyond anything they would have received in a traditional kindergarten classroom. My daughters now attend private school in Dallas, and are happy, confident, well-rounded, and academically way above the curve. The teachers and staff at Starwood are knowledgeable, professional, caring, and take an active interest in educating every single child to their fullest potential. I would recommend this school to anyone seeking an exceptional Montessori experience for their children.

Both of my grandchildren are a part of the Starwood family. Their experiences have been positive ones regardless of the level or rooms in which they are placed. As an educator, I know what to look for and Starwood has everything that is good for kids. They learn how to learn, which is paramount to success in school and life in general . Establishing good study habits and learning how to explore central ideas is the root of all learning. Ive had several students who attended Montessori schools and all of them had good study habits, which aided in their overall success in school. While some may see the school as sterile and cold, I see it as a healthy environment for learning life skills. As for the director, I had the privilege of having her in my class many years ago. She is smart, caring, and dedicated. She runs a tight ship because she has the lives of our precious children in her hands and those of her teachers. I am about to have a new grandchild and when she is old enough, she too will attend Starwood until she is ready for public school.

My older daughter was at Starwood from age 2 until 5 ('04-'07). My younger daughter has also started at age 2 ('09) and is in her second year at Starwood. My wife and I also utilized the aftercare program for both children.

When my oldest daughter entered the public school system, while in kindergarten, her reading level was well above her peers.

The staff (teaching and administration) is exceptional, caring, available and very nurturing. They are always professional, respectful and very responsive.

The curriculum is exceptional. Starwood provides a wonderful environment for children to learn and grow.
